Anyone trying to make work FreeSWan?
Hi everybody! I have been trying linux FreeSWan (1.91, ships with SuSE 7.3) since a month ago but no success at all (I haven't be able to pass through "Main State" or the first one step). I suscribed to FreeSWan mailing list, but they always submit everybody to its own FAQs and docs within the packet. I'm also trying to sign RSA certificates but openssl is always complaining with the same error. I'm really in a mess and my last hope was writing to SuSE list if someone would help me in a step by step configuration of FreeSWan. My job is pending of it! As usual, many thanks in advance! Hi I did try that too, but no luck. Then I found vtund daemon, and it works nicely. Vtun does form a secure VPN with packaging & crypting. Setting it up is not as difficult as FreeSwan, much easier. I have had that up and running between 3 different location, and since I got it working, no problems! It keeps the line up all the time, and I never have had a single problem with it. The only "difficult" part with it is setting the firewall-rules, but even that is not difficult, just time-consuming. Jaska. Viestissä Keskiviikko 12. Yes, I saw that package, but I've decided FreeSWan because it was the only one that said "IPsec VPN configuration..." Is it compatible with M$ Ruindows clients? Did you test it like that? If you say there's no trouble, I will try it right now. Vtun does form a secure VPN with packaging & crypting. Setting it up is not as difficult as FreeSwan, much easier. I hope so ;) I have had that up and running between 3 different location, and since I got it working, no problems! It keeps the line up all the time, and I never have had a single problem with it. Is it possible to setup like a VPN gateway? I need this configuration type! The only "difficult" part with it is setting the firewall-rules, but even that is not difficult, just time-consuming. Oh, don't worry, "I'm always breaking the rules"... Jaska. It's a pleasure! Alejandro. Viestissä Keskiviikko 12.
