Running Suse 8.2. Just downloaded Apache 1.3. It runs fine from the command line when invoked manually but refuses to start from xinetd. I've tried it from the localhost and also from another machine, neither works. To run apache from inetd/xinetd (probably only recommdable when you need it quite infrequently), you need to change the ServerType variable from standalone to something else (see http://httpd.apache.org/docs). Did you do that? Peter

I went ahead and just set it to start at boot instead. Thanks anyway though! -- Allen Seelye alleninmt@yahoo.com Linux user since 1999. WWJWD What Would John Wayne Do?

Apparently my last email didn't go to the list. My Bad. I decided to set it up to start at boot instead and it runs fine that way. But thanks for the response. -- Allen Seelye alleninmt@yahoo.com Linux user since 1999 WWJWD What Would John Wayne Do?
