I've recently installed Leap and VLC with it, but it's refusing to play a video. I went looking for codecs and am becoming even more confused. There seem to be several possible sources and dire warnings not to mix sources. And advice on different pages differs. Is there an authoritative page that explains what the options are for installing VLC on Leap and where to get all the codecs? You just have to install VLC from packman, as has been for years. If /you/ prefer, install it from videolan instead. Do not mix pacakges from packman or videolan: choose one. Most people choose packman. This I what I have (on 13.1): Telcontar:~ # rpm -qa | grep vlc vlc-qt-2.2.2-2.12.x86_64 vlc-noX-lang-2.2.2-2.12.noarch libvlccore7-2.1.5-239.2.x86_64 libvlc5-2.2.2-2.12.x86_64 npapi-vlc-2.2.0-1.1.x86_64 vlc-noX-2.2.2-2.12.x86_64 vlc-codecs-2.2.2-2.12.x86_64 vlc-2.2.2-2.12.x86_64 vlc-gnome-2.2.2-2.12.x86_64 libvlccore8-2.2.2-2.12.x86_64 Telcontar:~ # -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
