[opensuse] leap42 wicked-dhcpv6 not working ?
With Leap42, I am unable to get an ipv6 address assigned from the dhcpv6 server. With 13.1 (pre-wicked) it works fine. Has anyone else been dabbling with such a setup? With a 13.1, it works fine: Dec 8 09:18:59 dresden dhcpd: Solicit message from fe80::214:85ff:fea6:a83d port 546, transaction ID 0x81740A00 Dec 8 09:18:59 dresden dhcpd: Picking pool address 2001:DB8::ff99::af56 Dec 8 09:18:59 dresden dhcpd: Sending Advertise to fe80::214:85ff:fea6:a83d port 546 Dec 8 09:18:59 dresden dhcpd: Request message from fe80::214:85ff:fea6:a83d port 546, transaction ID 0x9E696200 Dec 8 09:18:59 dresden dhcpd: Sending Reply to fe80::214:85ff:fea6:a83d port 546 With Leap42, I see nothing. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (1.1°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Same problem on Tumbleweed, btw. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (2.0°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Okay, I must be missing something - apart from default network dhcp config with v4 and v6 enabled, what else do I need? Running wicked-dhcpv6 manually I see no ipv6 traffic when it's started. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (4.6°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I came across this paragraph in SLES12 documentation: "Starting with SUSE Linux Enterprise 12, DHCPv6 will correctly require that at least one of the routers on the network sends out RAs that indicate that this network is managed by DHCPv6. " I have radvd running on the router, works fine. For post 13.1, it seems I need to enable "AdvManagedFlag on" to indicate I will be using DHCPv6 instead of SLAAC. I tried some of the test-modes of wicked-dhcpv6, though I'm not quite what they mean. In mode "managed", wicked talks to the dhcp server and gets an address: # /usr/lib/wicked/bin/wickedd-dhcp6 --test --test-mode managed eth0 Notice: eth0: Request to acquire DHCPv6 lease with UUID 51ed6656-1599-0200-bf0b-000001000000 in mode managed INTERFACE='eth0' TYPE='dhcp' FAMILY='ipv6' UUID='51ed6656-1599-0200-bf0b-000001000000' IPADDR='2001:db8:4c68:1:ff99::9e1b/64' PREFIXLEN='64' DNSSERVERS='2001:db8:4c68:1::1000' DNSSEARCH='local.net' ACQUIRED='1449586002' CLIENTID='00:01:00:01:1c:d6:36:15:00:14:85:a6:ca:4d' SERVERID='00:01:00:01:1d:f9:4e:88:00:08:02:58:7f:ac' SERVERADDR='fe80::214:85ff:fea6:ca4d' It doesn't get assigned to the interface, but I'm not sure if that is meant to happen with "test-mode managed". /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (4.4°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
