[opensuse] Updates in 11.0
Now that 11.0 have been out there a while. Does the new updater handle the Update Filelists a bit better than 10.3? 10.3 downloads the whole file every time a change was made to it; instead of just getting diffs (as I would expect it should) Manne -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Manne YES! - Much faster by a factor of 5+. I no longer "dread" the dead-time (5-10 minutes in 10.3) clicking either online-update or software management. Yast/zypp package index handling is a bright spot in 11.0, kuddos to the developers. kde4 on the other hand.... -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E. I don't know the exact details but the updater (and package manager in general) in 11.0 is way faster than before. The updater supports "delta RPM" and all updates appear to be published in that format. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
