With previous versions of OpenSUSE, there used to be a live version that could be booted from CD or USB stick. Is there such a thing for Leap? tnx jk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Tnx. Used to be there was an obvious link when you downloaded the regular version. On 03/14/2019 11:18 AM, Knurpht-openSUSE wrote:

<https://www.opensuse.org/> --> click on install Leap <https://software.opensuse.org/distributions/leap> There is a choice of tabs: Installation x86_64 JeOS x86_64 Live x86_64 Ports aarch64 and another : DVD Network image If you select the "Live" tab, then the second line changes to gnome kde rescue LiveCD As the first page seems immutable, the goodies are on the second page ;-) -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. That is longer to remember, and only serves if you already know what to do, not when searching for information. Also, when I type "opensuse" at the firefox entry box, that is not what I get. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)

I don't type opensuse in the "firefox entry box". I type eweed or /15.0 or /15.1 or whatever in the firefox history search box, then open the appropriate entry in a new tab. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. If I type "eweed" I get forum searches. With "/15.0" I get http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.0/iso/, which is good for downloading the ISO, but I only do that about once a year, so not much use to me :-D -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Typed where? I type in history window, sorted by URL, not in a browser window, so can go straight to anywhere I've been, or at least close enough to where I want to go, then up or down as in any other directory tree. e.g. http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/ http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.0/live/ http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.1/repo/oss/boot/x86_64/loa... -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. I open a firefox tab, and start typing in the entry box there, call it "whatever". The one that will contain the actual URL. A drop down list with the history appears, with matching entries.

It's a worthy step, a tool, without which I would find life much more difficult. I use it far more often than bookmarks. For Firefox I open it first thing after opening its initial window. For SeaMonkey, my most active browser, I open and close the history window many times per day. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Team OS/2 ** Reg.
