[opensuse] Evolution Mail - reply yo list and default font color
Good morning listmembers, Would like to know if are there any hacks to add a "reply to list" button into Evolution Mail toolbar, since using the default CTRL+L IMHO is not so user friendly. Other point of question is why the default font color "black" of Evolution compose or reader looks less dark (it is really a grey color) than other default black as e.g. into Firefox or other apps. Is there a way to modify default font color into Evolution? I have never found one. All my mail is first processed by procmail. This way I sort things into various folders, independent of my mail reader. I also have a rule that makes the Reply button reply to the list restrict it to to only the message poster. :0f * ^X-Mailinglist:.*opensuse | /usr/bin/formail -bfi "Reply-To:opensuse@opensuse.org" -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O. There has been discussion on the Evolution list; now that Bonobo is gone it is much easier to move the UI forward and such a menu-item/button is likely to appear in a future version.

Fine, so let's wait for next Evolution release. Really the feature request is very old, as I verified through mailing lists, so Evolution Team so far appeared to be not very sensible to users feedbacks. Cheers, -- Marco Calistri <amdturion> Even the bad things are better than they used to be. Bad music, for instance, has gotten much briefer. Wagner's Ring Cycle takes four days to perform while "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" by the Crash Test Dummies lasts little more than three minutes. -- P.J. FALSE (why the insistence on this list of tossing accusation and criticism at developers?). The Evolution UI was extremely difficult to change due to how Bonobo was integrated into the application. It had nothing at all to do with "sensibility to users feedback". <http://mbarnes.livejournal.com/3367.html> <http://www.go-evolution.org/KillBonobo> [check out that time line!] The situation sucked, and the developers said so. And the situation is now fixed. Refactoring [replacing a significant component] in a complex application is not a simple weekend project. Everyone on this list who disses' developers for being 'unresponsive' should really give it a try sometime. -- Adam Tauno Williams <awilliam@whitemice.org> LPIC-1, Novell CLA <http://www.whitemiceconsulting.com> OpenGroupware, Cyrus IMAPd, Postfix, OpenLDAP, Samba -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Everyone on this list who disses' developers for being 'unresponsive' should really give it a try sometime. So my sincere apologies to developers, I was completely ignoring the background of the problem.
In any case I found comments dated March 2006 requesting the "Reply to List button" feature to be added and this reveals a very slow timing for a resolution...Whatsoever it be. https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution/+bug/33830 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I used to use procmail at my very start in linux, when I managed an AMPR.ORG server (Red Hat 7.3) which was running mostly through console. Nowadays I prefer graphical interfaces to do this kind of operations, especially in the specific case wherein I'm using a laptop. BTW thanks for your suggestion. I use procmail because I do not want my filters to require that my mail reader runs. I save the mail in imap folders so I can read mail remotely. I still want to see the messages filtered. But I do not want to set up each mail reader to do so. Hence procmail. Do it once. Do it right. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O.
