I use Steam and can play Counter Strike:Source with graphics acceleration and also Adobe Photoshop CS2 installs just fine... under openSUSE 11.0 x86_64. All of this worked with installing WINE from the openSUSE repository, I did not have to make any configuration changes.
.. is it even possible?
32-bit Windows programs also run under 64-bit Windows just fine (the only issue there is hardware drivers, mainly). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks! Ok, so in principle, there should be no problem.. ..but: I am trying to install internet exploder 6 (sp1). I did the following.. (1) run winecfg (2) run wine-doors .. it was complaining about some "autohotkey" thing (not important, I suppose) (3) Downloaded the ie6 from m$ download center and installed it with "wine ie6setup.exe".. wine told me that a newer version of ie was already installed, so I had to run "wine ie6setup.exe /q" (4) At 93% of installing, wine says in the terminal: ------- wine: Critical section 7bc95564 wait failed at address 0x7bc3b490 (thread 001f), starting debugger... err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000194 flags 0 addr 0x7bc3b490 ----- (5) I try to run ie using wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Internet\ Explorer/iexplore.exe but just get a blank window.. Anyone succeeded in installing ie6 at 64-bit suse 11.0 ? Cheers, Sampsa -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Tried that already.. it says: ------ IEs4Linux 2 is developed to be used with recent Wine versions (0.9.x). It seems that you are using an old version. It's recommended that you update your wine to the latest version (Go to: winehq.com). ------ Then it stalls after saying: --------- Installing IE 6 Initializing Creating Wine Prefix --------- .. and that's about it. So IEs4Linux not up-to-date? I am running wine 1.1.5. .. It seems I have to downgrade to 0.9.x ?
