I have had the same problem with the kde 3.2 beta release: after installation, kbear can be launched, but all ftp sites are greyed out in the ftp manager and it is impossible to connect to any ftp site. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, to no avail. I've downloaded the latest source (kbear 3 beta) but it won't compile on SuSE 9.0 :
bearcopyjob.cpp:700:10: warning: #warning is a GCC extension kbearcopyjob.cpp:700:10: warning: #warning TODO : change permissions once all is finished kbearcopyjob.cpp: In member function `void KBearCopyJob::copyNextFile()': kbearcopyjob.cpp:1086: error: `setSourceSize64' undeclared (first use this function) kbearcopyjob.cpp:1086: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in.) make[4]: *** [kbearcopyjob.lo] Error 1 make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/fx/kbear-3.0alpha1b/kbear/lib/jobclasses' make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/fx/kbear-3.0alpha1b/kbear/lib' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/fx/kbear-3.0alpha1b/kbear' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/fx/kbear-3.0alpha1b' make: *** [all] Error 2

I am running KDE 3.2 on SuSE 8.1 and Kbear no longer works for me either. I downloaded KDE 3.2 using Kbear but Kbear became broken after I upgraded. When trying to connect to an FTP site an error message pops up saying the connect process died unexpectedly.. hrrrumph. -- Jim Norton - http://www.jimnorton.org 2 + 2 = 5 for large values of 2 - Never argue with an idiot. - - He'll just lower you to his - -level and then beat you with experience.-
