I tried to install SuSE 7.3 pro and was configuring Lucent winmodem. I did the following steps. 1. Installed kernel source 2. as root #make cloneconfig dep 3. Using ltmodem source , install went fine. when I try to run $modprobe lt_serial , I get the following mesg. modprobe: Cant open dependencies file /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/modules.dep (No such file or directory) I checked the file and found missing, what is this modules.dep file. What went wrong ? I have done this earlier )before linux partition table was corrupted due to defrag...... I was able to connect earlier (previous install). This time it was a fresh install. if someone can point me the corrective actions couls be of great help. TIA, anbu

Try running depmod -a (as root). I'm not sure, but I think this would be needed. -- Joe & Sesil Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871
