I would like to watch TV on my SuSE 6.4 system, and I have been using the "built-in" script /usr/doc/packages/bttv/tools/update, which starts all relevant modules, so that video4linux applications can run. It works OK when running the module-starting script after system-start, but when I tried including a calling line for the script in /sbin/init.d/boot.local, it didn't work. It seems like calling the script at this time doesn't start the modules. I have other lines in /sbin/init.d/boot.local, that start up other things OK. What is the problem with calling the module-starting script from boot.local? As I said, the same script works OK, when running it "by hand" after system-boot, so that I can start kwintv and other applications that make use of my Hauppauge card. Thanks in advance. why don't you define it in the modules.conf so it will load the necessary modules when you start kwintv or any other tv program. hope it helps -- Togan Muftuoglu toganm@turk.net It said "Needs Windows 98 or better."
