[opensuse] Samsung Galaxy Tab 2
I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet. One thing I've noticed is that when I connect it to my main computer, running openSUSE 12.1, it opens as a camera and I can't seem to get to other areas of the device for saving files etc. In Windows 7, some drivers were installed and I was then able to access it for saving files. Any idea how to get this to work with Linux? tnx jk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi On my ASUS I can swith between camera and mtp modes via the settings. Else use a ssh client or server on the device to connect via wireless? Maybe bluetooth? -- Cheers Malcolm °¿° (Linux Counter #276890) SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 (x86_64) Kernel 3.0.34-0.7-default up 7 days 17:24, 3 users, load average: 1.48, 1.96, 1.93 CPU Intel i5 CPU M520@2.40GHz | Intel Arrandale GPU -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I have that setting too, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I don't have any Bluetooth capability on my computers. I guess I've have to look into some file manager software that can connect to my computer. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Ahh, you need to try a udev rule and mtpfs to mount. Look at this thread, you will just need to change the vendor and product id's; http://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php?t=475430 -- Cheers Malcolm °¿° (Linux Counter #276890) SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 (x86_64) Kernel 3.0.34-0.7-default up 7 days 20:39, 2 users, load average: 1.29, 1.90, 1.82 CPU Intel i5 CPU M520@2.40GHz | Intel Arrandale GPU -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I asked same few day ago ;-) And I have bad news for You... :-( http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2012-08/msg00023.html I'm afraid, there is now easy way how to get it to work. Try some other way how to transfer files - cloud, SSH, Air Droid, BT, ...

It can be accessed using both as camera or mtp device. 12.1 is not really good there, 12.2 will be better. You could checkout libgphoto2 2.4.14.1 from the GPhoto OBS repository, if it works better. repo is at: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GPhoto/openSUSE_12.1/ Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
