Hi there Here is another newbie question: I have two linux machines. Machine #1: Is a LAMP server. I have setup cron to make a nightly tar ball of the htdocs and mysql data and to keep it in /backup The /backup directory I have exported via NFS. Machine #2: Is a NFS client of the LAMP server and mounts the exported /backup directory and makes a nightly copy for backup purposes. This has been running well for a long time until both machines rebooted for some reason (could it have been a power hiccup?). Machine 1 came up no problem but Machine 2 stopps at "Importing Net File System (NFS)" and doesn't go any further. I can reboot Machine 2 but it always stops at "Importing Net File System (NFS)" :-S Machine 1 has a 2.4.21-231-athlon kernel and Machine 2 has a 2.4.21-243-athlon kernel The first thing I thought of was that Machine 1 had activated the firewall again and is blocking traffic. I had looked at it and I believe that the firewall is not running but I am not sure. I have tried to connect Machine 1 from a third linux computer (my laptop) and but I have NOT been successful. So I am a bit stumped. Regards from Denmark, Dan
