In the old days (SuSE 7.1) if you wanted linux to start a service at boot time you just included i.e: START_NAMED="Yes" in rc.config. I'd like to start named this way under SuSE 8.0, but so far no luck. Does anybody know where should I include this in order to have named start at boot time (or any other service)? Thanks in advance. Patrick.

$ insserv named to start $ insserv -r named to have it no start. Look at insserv(8) for more. Togan, is this in the FAQ? -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A. P. J.

Not very clearly but added to the TODO list to make it clear -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx
