Still no news on Ximian Gnome for SuSE...
Sent them an e-mail asking about a SuSE 7.1 release since, for about a month, 7.2 is out and available... Sigh. I used to like Ximian... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ SuSE Linux 7.1 was released at about the same time that beta testing started for GNOME 1.4, and we decided not to delay our support for GNOME 1.4 in order to add support for more platforms. SuSE Linux 7.1 is quite different from a packaging standpoint from previous versions of SuSE Linux and will require more modifications to our packages than is typical for a minor version upgrade. We hope to have support for SuSE Linux 7.1 within the next few weeks. Please feel free to subscribe to the announce list at: http://www.ximian.com/about/lists.php3

I've pretty much given up on Ximian -- I just associate them with RedSplat now and write them off as an also-ran. -Steven
why do you need this thing? SuSE has pretty good gnome packages itself. ain

SuSE has a 1.4 set out..it doesn't have DeadCarp-et but it's the same stuff. Sun's Gnome 1.4 package are 10X better then Ximian's 1.2 package as far as EVERYTHING working...not one package didn't work. I use to be a big fan of Helixcode...but Ximian can kiss my ass. Screw'em...go with KDE2..it's way better and lightyears ahead of the foot. /end rant -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- The only argument for the superiority of Windows over UNIX is that General Protection Fault outranks Colonel Panic.

Amen! Ximian has lots of smooching to do, as far as I'm concerned. Have a great night :) -Steven
