[opensuse] Can't see network printer
I have an HP 5180 printer directly connected to a LAN port of my router. The router is set for dynamic ips. All machines booting to XP see the printer. After I went through the SUSE 10.2 printer set up (for network printer) and tried to test or print, I got an error message stating I was using a different spool. I don't really know what is going on. Hi Mike, I have a Hp 2575 . Try this. In the Printer Configuration module in Yast2 choose add. In the next window 'Printer Type" choose Network Printer. In the next window 'Network Printers' choose 'Print Directly to Network Printer' In the next window 'Pinter Type' choose 'Direct TCP Port Printing' In the next window 'Direct TCP Port Printing' put the IP address of you're network printer. In the next window 'Queue Name' rename the printer if you like, add a description and location. But it's not necessary. In the next page 'Printer Model' choose your model. In the next page 'Configuration' choose test, if all goes well click OK and Finish on the next page.
