[SuSE Linux] Problem with a network device
Hello, My system is a Linux with two network devices, one of them has a real direction, and the other has a private direction, both are the same model REALTEK 10100. My version of linux is SUSE 5.3, it is a firewall, it has a proxy server, it is a mail server (sendmail and pop3 ). When there are some people connect to it, for example reading the mail or navigating in Internet, the interface with the private direction, has many problems. From the linux I can ping only to the private direction, I cannot ping to the other direction of the LAN, and from all the directions of the LAN, I cannot ping the Linux's private direction. So there isn't comunications between my LAN and the exterior. When it happen, some messages like this appear in the /var/log/messages file: Transmit timeout, status 0d 0000. eth0: Tx descriptor 0 is 0008203c. (queue head) eth0: Tx descriptor 1 is 0008203c. eth0: Tx descriptor 2 is 100825ea. eth0: Tx descriptor 3 is 0008022f. I know that it is'nt a fail in the hardware ( network device ) because I have changed it yet and the same problem has happened again. Please, ¡ help me !, I'm sorry because my english is horrible, Thank you very much. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
