[opensuse] Typing accented characters in Firefox
I have the compose key working in terminal windows and emacs. I'd like to have a similar way to type accented characters in Firefox. Any suggestions? TIA, Jeffrey -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Have you tried configuring the keyboard to use U.S. International layout? That provides a variety of accented and special characters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_keyboard#US-International -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

TIA, Jeffrey I have the compose key working in Firefox. I typed "Auf der Straße" into Google, and got a batch of hits, which also used the ess-tset character. Running PCLOS with KDE desktop.

TIA, Jeffrey I can type German into Google. What are you trying to do? AFAIK, compose works in all modes on the machine, including terminals, editors, GUI programs, etc. I've never seen a case where it didn't.

Type Spanish (español) into www.duolingo.com in Opera. It did not work in 11.2 and 11.4. I just updated the 11.2 installation to 12.2 and it now works. Thanks all. Jeffrey -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
