[opensuse] Latest OpenOffice missing text in bottom status bar
When editing document, the status bar at the bottom has places for text to be located, but the various places are empty. A few of them will get text when I click on them, but most stay empty. Of course, when I click on them, they also change value. It is build 3.2.0.7 Anyone else see this? -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O. I've too for me, ooo 3.2.0.7 is very raw and unstable -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It is in the STABLE repository, isn't it? This seems a very obvious regression to catch. I spend my time in vi, so I do not see these things in OO very often. -- Roger Oberholtzer Ramböll RST/OPQ Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O. Yes, It is STABLE repository, but OOO is not. At home I use ooo version from opensuse distro (3.1.1.4), at work I use 3.2.0.7. But when i try downgrade to 3.1, after this, ooo is craches while starting. So still running on 3.2.0.7 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I agree that STABLE repo does not have to mean stable app. But something as obvious as the text in the status bar when editing a document? Perhaps this is X server related. I say that because I have some other screen update issues: * The panel in Dolphin that shows icons is often garbage when the window is uncovered. Moving the mouse in it improves this. * In basic X apps (e.g., Tk), the background in, say, a scrolled list, is garbage. I am using the ATI driver (xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd-1.3.0). So maybe that is the cause of some missing screen updates? -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O. I'm also using the 3.2.0.7 build from STABLE, and I do not experience what you and others report. I'm (still) using openSUSE 11.0 x86_64 with KDE 3.5.10

As I commented in the bugzilla report, if I start ooffice as OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=kde ooffice all is ok. Then it has a different look and feel, but the various labels are correct. The default is OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=kde4 Of course, the kde4 look might be exercising X server issues. Your guess is as good as mine. I am using the open source ATI driver, as I mentioned elsewhere in this thread. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O. Not likely as it has been reported by people using ATI or nVidia cards. I have seen it on three different nVidia cards. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I think that it might be related to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=567886. The OOo status bar is not displayed correctly in KDE4. -- Best Regards, Petr Mladek software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: pmladek@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 952 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
