[opensuse] gtk / gtk2
On doing an online update through Yast, the "@System" repository shows that both gtk & gtk2 (Library for creation of Graphical User Interfaces, version 2) are present and updates are available for both. Are both gtk, as well as gtk2 required on the same installation of oS 11.1 ? Or, if gtk2 is installed, can gtk be uninstalled ? No, gtk2 is not backward compatible to gtk ( that is the reason, why it has got a new major number). Therefore an applicaton ,which was build against gtk cannot use gtk2 instead. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
