I would like for Postfix to connect to my ISP's SMTP server to route email for me and the users that connect to my server. However, I setup Postfix's my_networks as 192.168.0.0/24 for all the boxes behind my Router. This errors out saying permission denied. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! NeoFax

Isn't it the other way around. Doesn't your ISPs SMTP server need to relay to your machine? -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. If he sets it up that way, every user that belongs to his ISP will be able to relay through his machine... not a good thing. I don't use postfix, but I remember there is a setting in the main.cf file to make his ISP's SMTP setting the default SMTP. It is/was well documented in that file somewhere. Of course, his ISP may not take too kindly to other users, not on his account, to forward mail through them. <g> -- Gary

Try /etc/postfix/transport -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org

Just curious: Why? I can't imagine wanting to do this. In my mind, I'd just send out the mail. Do you have firewall "issues" or something? Regards, dk

The reason why at the time, was I was having problems getting Netscape 7.02 to send email to my ISP. Now that this is fixed (upgraded to Netscape 7.1), there is no reason. Thanks for all of the replys! Patrick: I will read up on the Transport function. For future reference. Thanks! NeoFax
