[opensuse] Google Voice no longer working in Chromium
I have used Google Voice in the Chromium browser in the past. However, it has now stopped working. When I try to make a call, the dialer says to download the voice plugin. I have done that, but it still doesn't work. I'm running 64 bit 13.1 and Chromium version 36.0.1985.125. tnx jk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

GV just had a major upgrade, and perhaps the plugin lags. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It still works in Windows & Chrome. The recent change cut off 3rd party smart phone apps. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No, the recent change re-enabled smart phone apps (Google's own as well as others) but the Protocol is different. It also re-enabled things like the OBIHAI http://blog.obihai.com/2014/09/google-voice-and-obihai-update.html The change I'm talking about occurred September 11. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

The voice plugin failed before that. I had to make a call to the U.S. last week and I had to boot my notebook computer into Windows to do it. I also use it for video chat with other Hangouts users. Also, that plugin came from Google and I still have an older version in Windows (from 2011). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

The latest pluggin is from June. You'd think they'd have already made the necessary changes, if any. Regardless, it works in Windows. Does anyone have this working with 13.1? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I found the fix here: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/494710-Google-Talk-Plugin-Not-wor... ln -s /usr/lib64/chromium-browser/pepper /usr/lib64/chromium/pepper -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
