Hi all, I am still having problems with apt timing out when trying to connect. I'm using Suse 8.2 Pro (from the box) and in other Suse installations I have no trouble, so I'm guessing it must be something particular to this PC?? Cannot figure out what, though. The only thing that googles gives me about it is my previous post here :) I have used several repositories, but in all I get the same result: aeolia:/home/sergio # apt-get update Err ftp://mirrors.mathematik.uni-bielef... on ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/suse/i386/8.2/ there is only one readme file file. Perhaps reading that file will give a clue to your problem. This is for apt, duh. Sorry for the first post. Check your /etc/apt/sources.list file and make sure the path isn't messed up somehow. It should be http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/suse/8.2-i386/ for your 8.2 install.
