I tried this twice with the same result. I installed vmware from yast2, then ran the perl file to configure it, as root. On running the first time both at root and as user, I go through the dialog boxes to set the network and cdrom options, and the config script exits normally. I start vmware, and as soon as I press the "Power On" button, Seg Fault. Every time. I'd really like to get VMWare running, as I have ordered Windows 2000 for it. -- Chicken Little only has to be right once.

Look under sdb.suse.com. I know theres the answer to your special question. You have to append "apic" to your kernel boot parameters [1]. Ré [1] http://sdb.suse.de/de/sdb/html/fhassel_vmware_segfault81.html
