RE: [SuSE Linux] Question...
I am pretty sure it will do fine with 85, do you know how to modify it directly in XF86Config so that I set it up to 85 Hz? Will Sax write the updated values to XF86Config? -----Original Message----- From: zentara [mailto:zentara@netfrog.net] Sent: 14 January 1999 15:56 Cc: suse Subject: Re: [SuSE Linux] Question... My CTX 17" monitor together with my Matrox Millenium support a custom refresh rate of up to 85.00Hz ... under windoze9x/NT
However under Linux it defects to an uncomfortable/dissapointing 70.50
Does anybody know how to tweak this to what I know to work and is more comfortable for my eyes? (85Hz)
In SAX, under Monitor/Expert there is a way to set the sync ranges of the monitor. Just set it to 80-85. You could also just try to do it directly in XF86config, but I always use SAX or XF86Setup because it will test it before writing the new config file. That may prevent some damage. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>

You can use a text editor to change the range in XF86config to 85-85. That ought to force it. Sax will test the new setup, if it works, it will ask you if you want to write it as a new Xf86config. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
