Anyone using a Nomad MP3 player with SuSE?
I just bought a Nomad MP3 player from Creative Labs. It uses a removeable USB storage device for holding music. I'm trying to figure out how to mount it and if it can be used with SuSE rather than windows. So, 1) Is anyone using this and if so, how'd you get it to work? 2) How would I mount a USB storage device? Hey I have done that! Got to this web site, get the rpm, and install it: http://nomadii.sourceforge.net/ At an xterm window type in nomadii and that should give you a "nomadii>" prompt. To get a list of commands type in help. There is also a man file in another xterm window "man nomadii" It is fairly bare bones but it should get your mp3 into your nomad. pben On Wednesday 18 June 2003 10:19 pm, Tom Nielsen wrote:

I downloaded the rpms but they wouldn't install. Something about them not being rpms. ??? Was it a simple install? I'm kinda of an idiot. Tom On Wednesday 18 June 2003 9:45 pm, Paul Benjamin wrote:

Here try this: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/nomadii/nomadII-utils-0.8-2.i386.rpm or http://nomadii.sourceforge.net/main.php3?action=download It was that simple for me but you may want to read the file: /usr/share/doc/nomadII-utils-0.8/hotplug/HOTPLUG After you have installed the rpm, I DID NOT make the changes there and it still worked for me but maybe your system is different. It is off to bed for me far too late, pben On Thursday 19 June 2003 12:14 am, Tom Nielsen wrote:

I just found out that if I put the thing in the USB slot, I can drag and drop files onto it. The downside is that I have to be su'd to do it. Is there a way to get around being root to do it? Thanks, Tom On Wednesday 18 June 2003 8:19 pm, Tom Nielsen wrote:
