I recently installed Leap 15.3 on my computers "hp" and "se" Configuring the sound cards by yast worked on "se" only, whereas on "hp" the following error message appears: ================================================================= An error occurred during the installation of GP107GL High Definition Audio Controller The kernel module snd-hda-intel for sound support could not be loaded. This can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters. ================================================================== The same for the other sound card, called "Cannon Lake PCH cAVS". How can I correct the kernel module snd-hda-intel and provide correct module, IO, or IRQ parameters? Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards, Wolfgang
Comparing the sound packages installed in my two computers "hp" and "se", I found out that libSoundTouch0 had been installed on "se" only. So I installed it on "hp", too, and retried configuring the sound cards. Now, configuration has been successful for "GP107GL High Definition Audio Controller", but continues to fail for "Cannon Lake PCH cAVS". No doubt, that is a progress, but unfortunately I cannot hear anything. Any suggestions? Best regards, Wolfgang
Good Morning!

Good morning. It is too early to get up, 3:00 a.m. CEST (+0200), but I can't sleep.

YaST2 --> Hardware --> Sound GP107GL High Definition Audio --> Not Configured Cannon Lake PCH cAVS --> 0 or 1 (Editing) --> Save
Have you tried this?
Yes I have, but it did not work, i.e. no channel number (0 or 1) was assigned to "Cannon Lake PCH cAVS". But I successfully configured the other card: YaST2 --> Hardware --> Sound GP107GL High Definition Audio --> 0 Cannon Lake PCH cAVS --> Not Configured --> Save I remember that even under 15.2, there was configured one card only, and that worked. But now under 15.3, I cannot hear anything, and kmix says: "Nothing is playing audio." Now, I return to bed. Bye, Wolfgang
