[opensuse] Compiz - How to put SuSE Updater back in the systray?

On 10.3, Compiz is working, but I can't get opensuse updater back into the systray? If I manually start it, when I close it, it goes completely away and doesn't remain active in the systray. I've tried add applet and add application, but that just sticks the button in there. I recall a prior post, but can't find it now. Thanks. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E. It has reappeared after the task bar has rearranged itself several times during login and logouts. Since this is a laptop, it happens often. Strange. All of the original systray icons ended up scattered around the desktop in tiny little windows. Closing the last one seems to have jump-started the systray. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E. This is why I have sleep 5 in my startup.. in KDE this is a known problem (could be all qt apps, as i've seen it happen in gnome with qt apps before). Usually launching Kontact initializes the sys tray.. and all the little campers would jump back on their boat. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ahah!, That's exactly where those little campers should be. I chased them all over the desktop before the jumped back in their boat. Seriously though, how does your startup script square with the openSuSE statement: "Note: Compiz is enabled by default if you installed compiz-manager package. Do not set up any other autostart scripts." I see your logic, and I did try your script, but still ended up having to run fusion-icon to get compiz fully started. See my next to last post "[opensuse] No Autostart of Compiz; compiz-manager installed" I have modified compiz-manager slightly and I'm off to test and I'll report back. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
