[opensuse] what packages for ipod touch?
Listmates, My son got an ip "touch" for his birthday and I'm trying to figure out the tools on Linux to use. So far I can see the device, but that's about it. I have used the tools in oss, pacman and banshee, but I'm still stuck any hints? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. I find that gtkpod works very well with my daughters ipod nano. Regards Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks Patrick, Jay and Dave, I've never heard of foola, I'll take a look. Amarok looks like the most likely candidate, as gtkpod works great with the nano, but I can't get it to work with the 'touch'. I wish I liked Amarok better, but every time I use it, it turns into a battle. I'll report back. On a different note the new KDE eGroupWare Wizards Rocks along with the new kmail! I haven't used kmail in years and didn't have any other mail package installed in an ArchLinux install I did so I fired it up and spent time configuring it and .... wow, this thing integrates with my eGroupWare install now. Woohoo! Damn Linux is getting good! -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Hi Dave, How did it go with Amarok? Did you find you could manage only the music or the apps as well? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Phillip, To be honest, it's still in my to be done box. The real world has been capitalizing most of my time lately :-( 3 kids, dogs, cats, work, etc...) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Its been programmed until it was designed, and implemented till it was debugged. It is impossible to navigate, with pointless things given the bulk of the workspace and essential things relegated to side-buttons. Worse, they are so proud of it you can't even explain to them the many ways in which it is un-user friendly. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

They're not done, though. All programs evolve until they have email functionality. Insofar as Amarok does not have email functionality, it isn't convoluted and complex enough yet. :-) Kurt -- Census Taker to Housewife: Did you ever have the measles, and, if so, how many? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Have you tried amaroK? I believe it has iPod support but having thrown away all my crappy iProducts before I started using Linux, I wouldn't know if it works or not. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
