[opensuse] 10.2 yast printer setup hangs
After an upgrade from 10.0 to 10.2 I went to print and found printing not working. SO I went to check in yast and got the message that the list of installed drivers had changed... Building database of drivers. then it hangs at 4% Anyone have a suggestion on what I need to do to fix this?? Nice pointer but not very helpful as no solution for yast hanging while rebuilding the printer DB shows up. Lots of fixes for HP printers and HP all in one units though. -- One day at a time, one second if that's what it takes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

At least you kept looking, most wouldn't. If you have a look at Johannes Meixner's reply on that thread, follow the link to bugzilla you see this entry towards the bottom: Comment #16 From Michal Zugec 2007-01-04 10:16:51 MST fixed in yast2-printer-2.14.17 At this point I would assume that this is somewhere in the update servers. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

At this point I would assume that this is somewhere in the update servers. Based on the number of times this theme keeps recurring since that

I'll agree with Darryl, at least you kept looking. You will find an abundant wealth of knowledge in the list archives, all it takes is a little searching. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Since you want someone else to do your homework. Go to the site above, in the search box enter "installed drivers", including the quotes, and use the thread from the 4th hit. You will find the answer, I found it in less then 5 minutes. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

My 10.2 does that too. Michael -- If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying."
