I'd like to run the latest grip, because the one that comes with Suse 8.0 doesn't seem to work properly (everytime I rip a CD and insert the next cd, it doesn't update the duration of the tracks, but uses the ones from the first cd) I hope the later version doesn't have this error (or is it only my configuration and no one else has this problem?) Anyway, trying to compile the program it tells me this: phoenix@myriad:~/Downloads/entpackt/grip-3.0.1> ./configure loading cache ./config.cache checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes checking for working aclocal... found checking for working autoconf... found checking for working automake... found checking for working autoheader... found checking for working makeinfo... missing checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no checking for gnome-config... no checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated by gnome-libs install 1. Where do I get makeinfo from? 2. Why doesn't it find a gnome-config? I have the gnome desktop installed (even though I'm running KDE) and I believe the gnome libs, too. I tried compiling under gnome, which is not working either - so that can't be the problem. Some help would be great! Regards, Phoenix

I will show you the files in .ogg, .mp3 and .wav. You can go into the mp3 folder..then highlight the tracks. You can then copy and paste them to another directory and while it's doing this it's converting them to .mp3's. It's very slick and you don't have to screw with GRIP which has always been a PITA to compile. ;) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe.. checking for working makeinfo... missing
Install the package texinfo.
Makefiles... no checking for gnome-config... no
Easiest way is to symlink /opt/gnome/bin/gnome-config to /usr/bin/gnome-config. Charles
makeinfo belongs to texinfo. gnome-config belongs to gnome-libs-devel.rpm gnomeConf.sh blongs to the above and gnome-objc.rpm You can find that info with pin or the search feature in yast. Usually, when configure complains and you have the lib, it is the -devel lib that is missing. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson El 02.09.30 a las 20:48, Phoenix escribió:
