This appears to be to do with joysticks. Did you compile any joystick modules with the kernel?

Modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-108 This is the ppp module. It isn't causing any problems, but I think you can get rid of this one with the following entry in /etc/conf.modules: alias char-major-108 ppp
