OSS 10.1 beta 8 Trying to compile km_ndiswrapper-1.2-2.i586.rpm from 10.0 and am getting errors. Since I cannot connect my laptop I am NOT going to copy a 120 colume X 25 row error message here. One small part states: halt passed 1 argument, but takes just 0 then the errors start and the compilation craps out. Any suggestions short of sacrificing my first born? And yes I do need ndiswrapper because it is the only way to use my wireless card and no I -AM NOT- going to buy a different card so don't suggest it. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

May I ask why you are not simply using the ndiswrapper for 10.1?
Because it was not on the beta 8 CDs. I looked further in factory and found it. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

To get my 2 wireless cards working I got ndiswrapper 1.9, (I think) from source forge, and the latest driver for the card. These steps are covered in the archives, but here is the link I followed nextgen.no-ip.org/~andrew/linux/ndiswrapper/ndiswrapperinfo.php Worked like a charm. There is ndiswrapper 1.11 rpm on the factory tree and you need the new kernel that is there. It will work with ifup/down but NetworkManager WILL NOT work with ndiswrapper at this time. I have been keeping an eye on the ndiswrapper bug list and the network manager forums. I hope that they get if fixed for the release version. Clark

I think it only doesn't work with unencrypted networks... -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org Packages for SUSE: http://usr-local-bin.org/rpms Make Poverty History: http://makepovertyhistory.org
