[opensuse] VirtualBox Question
Just curious - have any of you been able to configure Windows 2008 under virtual box yet? I have got it loaded but can't seem to get teh networking started. I have the addins installed but still nothing. I looked at this site for guidance: http://ihatecubicle.blogspot.com/2008/02/setting-up-windows-2008-in-virtual-... Yet I still have no network detected (see screen shot). Ideas? -- kai www.filesite.org || www.4thedadz.com || www.perfectreign.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request

Can you also provide a screen shot of the VB network configuration? -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
1. Either install AMD PCnet drivers inside Windows guest -or- 2. Got it. I thought there might be something under that directory but didn't know it was a driver. Only took me five minutes to figure out how to install a driver on 2008. I wrote a good article about VirtualBox some time ago: http://forgeftp.novell.com/lfl/.html/virtualbox.html It's a bit outdated, but Enjoy ! -- -Alexey Eromenko "Technologov" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Nice article. What I didn't found: Does VirtualBox support snapshotting? If yes, once or multiple times? USB support is mentioned -- USB 1 or USB 2? How stable is USB 2, e.g., if one wants use iTunes for an iPod? Article reflects author's (my) interests. I have very limited interests in USB and snapshotting.
What I didn't found: Does VirtualBox support snapshotting? Limited snapshotting. Multiple: yes. Branching (multi-tree): no. Portable to other VBox versions: No.
If yes, once or multiple times? USB support is mentioned -- USB 1 or USB 2? How stable is USB 2, e.g., if one wants use iTunes for an iPod? I think USB 1, but not sure. Support is basic only - so no advanced gadgets for you !

I have managed to connect an iPOD to iTunes running in Windows under OpenSuSE 10.3. Identify the iPOD in the settings section of VirtualBox. After starting VB and connecting the iPOD, iTunes recognises it, -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
