Hiya, I have a Pioneer DVR-106D (with the patest unhacked firmware) I have searched up this error that I get, and it appears its something to do with combi DVD / CDRW drives (this is a combi DVDRW / CDRW but I guess that dosent apply) having checked the FAQS (http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2003/11/fluttma_dvdinstall.html) and various other sitesI tryed what was reccomended. hdc=ide-scsi and loading the ide-scsi driver (kernal modules > scsi / IDE / Raid > ide-scsi) however this is still failing to work, does anyone have any other ideas? ripping the DVD drive out of this PC and putting another one in is really not a option. any other ideas would be great.

You shouldn't need to manually tell the kernel to load the ide-scsi driver. Simply passing hdc=ide-scsi to the kernel at boot time (from the boot menu in grub) or as a kernel parameter in grub's menu.lst should work. Regards, Mark
Funnily enough, this is during the install of 9.1
:/
