Exactly, Greg. It is either ignorance or stupidity. Ignorance can be remedied, stupidity is another matter. I am not arguing understanding here. But if the list is suse-linux-"E"@suse.com, it would be well advised to have a moderate, if not, in-depth understanding of the English language. Far too often, things are misunderstood and solutions are not aquired because of a language barrier. I know this through my travels around the world. I am not condoning any bashing, just stating that I understand how hard it can be. On a regular basis, I must sit through an anouncement in spanish (or whatever), to finally get the ENGLISH version. And this is in the US. I am sorry, but too much understanding breeds laziness. The first thing I learned in Korea was how to say "Where is the bathroom?" in Hungul. That waste enough, bandwidth, back to you. One of the things I like about Linux and SuSE's distro, is that it is very
global. Linus is Finish, Lenz and Co are German, Samba's creator (I spaced
on his name) is from Down Under. These are the things that make Linux so
rich. Kind of like a buffet, take the best, mix it up and out comes
something that can suits everyones needs from admins to users, from gurus to
newbies. I am glad that there are people on this list who see things from a
different background. A little bit of miscomprehension on my part is well
worth it.

Hi all, The spelling problem is not new. Below is what Mark Twain had to say about it over 100 years ago. Enjoy. ______________________________________ A Plan for the Improvement of English Spelling by Mark Twain For example, in Year 1 that useless letter "c" would be dropped to be replased either by "k" or "s", and likewise "x" would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which "c" would be retained would be the "ch" formation, which will be dealt with later. Year 2 might reform "w" spelling, so that "which" and "one" would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish "y" replasing it with "i" and Iear 4 might fiks the "g/j" anomali wonse and for all. Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and Iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants. Bai Iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez "c", "y" and "x" -- bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez -- tu riplais "ch", "sh", and "th" rispektivli. Fainali, xen, aafte sam 20 iers ov orxogrefkl riform, wi wud hev a lojikl, kohirnt speling in ius xrewawt xe Ingliy-spiking werld. ---------------------------------------------- :) Jim Hatridge hatridge@straubing.baynet.de Proud Linux User #88484 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jim's Beowulf Project Looking for giveaway computers and parts I need it all!
