[opensuse] pkcs11, Java, and browsers?
Hi Folks, This looks bad. We have a requirement to use smartcards to authenticate to a webvpn system. The webvpn product requires Java support to open a ssh terminal. Alas, this all stopped working when Chrome and Firefox dropped support for NPAPI. In other words, no Java now with Chrome and Firefox. It doesn't look like opera will ever support pkcs11, and I don't think Konqueror does either. Alternatives? Oracle's Java web site recommends using MS Windows or Apples. I'm truly loathe to do this, but we could run Windows in Virtualbox just to get Java compatibility. Tell me this isn't so! Firefox ESR still supports NPAPI for at least next year. This could give you time until some alternative solution appears.
