Weird characters in current Rubber Turnip Evolution 1.2.0 on SuSE 8.1: äöü߀ÄÖÜ
Hi, I have seen that emails which I receive from people who do use the German 'Umlauts' get crippled in Evolution 1.2.0 ae becomes ä AE becomes Ä oe becomes ö OE becomes Ö ue becomes ü UE becomes Ü And the famous sz (which should look similar to beta) finally becomes ß 'Euro-Sign' looks as follows: € - it should be a round-shouldered E with two bars. Above I wrote 'xe' meaning an 'x' with dots, just to avoid confusion:-) The weird thing is, this appeals only to the message body. In the subject line display is correct - see here. Anyone got an idea? James? Cheers .... Wolfi ============================================= mailto:wolfi_z@gmx.net Linux ... the better OS!

Perhaps you are using a font or character encoding that does not support umlauts. In your mail, the umlauts and sz all look fine to me. The Euro does not, but that is because I use iso-8859-1 which does not have the Euro. Regards Ole

Maybe I should have mentioned that from the beginning, I got iso-8859-15 which is iso-8859-1 plus Euro sign. Of course :-)) Cheers .... Wolfi ============================================= mailto:wolfi_z@gmx.net Linux ... the better OS!
