Hi there, I also have been installing Suse 5.1, and I liked it very much. However, I have found some little things to be annoying, though the problems were relatively easy to overcome. First, and most important, is that I would like a virtual terminal already in the linuxrc phase of the install, so that I can check mounting points on another machine (in my case, the CD happened to be 3 minutes walking away, in another building). Second, please warn the user somewhat better that the suse scripts at the end of the install take a LONG time, and send an e-mail when finished. (It took more than an hour. No problem, since I could work at the same time, but, well, only because someone else warned me not to restart.) Third, when I repartioned the drive, and exited YaST, it took a fairly long time before the rebooting message came. My fingers were already searching for Ctrl-Alt-Del. A message "please wait a while" would be great. Fourth, not annoying and not an error, just a remark: I didn't find xpilot in the games popup menu of FVWM2, though Craft was. Does the rpm of the program have to be specially prepared for susewm? Or does Susewm looks for default programs (like TheNextLevel: m4 scripts for fvwm95)? A last remark, to all of you which haven't installed yet: in the book there is a quick install guide of tess than a page: I read it and it helps, since you know what to expect. The rest of the book can wait untill I have problems:-) Greetz, Leon -- ================================================================== Leon Widdershoven l.widdershoven@fz-juelich.de Institut fuer Plasmaphysik, Forschungszentrum Juelich GmbH, D-52425 Juelich, Germany -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
