[opensuse] lxde, can it remember session apps?

Hi,
Can lxde be told to save the session status, and restart the same apps the next time?
Unfortunately it can't. This feature was removed from lxsession long ago (IIRC in 0.3) as it never really worked. Use Xfce if you need it.
I find a nuisance to have to restart things each time.
You can still use the normal autostart mechanism with lxsession-edit.
The GUI should be straightforward and for more info, refer to
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/autostarting
Best regards,
Christoph

Unfortunately, XFCE has a problem: the display sleeps so deeply overnight that it can't wake up in the morning. See the "Can not wake up the display" thread.

Maybe... but that will not remember the positioning of the applications. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

I don't know for lxde (because I'm using openbox), but I'd try with some additional lines in "~/.xinitrc" - usually I have at least the following line there (right before "exec $WINDOWMANAGER ..."): gkrellm -w & Of course this doesn't start all programms which have been running in the last session, but it's sufficient for me.
