I have 8.2 downloaded for an nfs install. I also have the updates for 8.2. I would like to apply those updates to the 8.2 folder that I will install from so I can update the kernal etc in 8.2. I know how to do this in redhat with anaconda but I am new to Suse. Jason Tesser Web/Multimedia Programmer Northland Ministries Inc. (715)324-6900 x3050

I don't think you can do that. You have to install first, and update patches later, using YOU. However, you can also have the patches on your local network, or a CD. The problem for doing what you suggest would be that the internal list of files to install would not match, and yast would probably complain of missing files during the install. Try it, and report back... you would have to replace original rpms with the upgraded one (not patch), having the same version, different release. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
