Re: [opensuse] How to create banners in Linux?
You can use GIMP. It is not well documented and took me a while until I found it. The easy path is: 1- Use layers as if each layer was a frame of your animation. 2- Save it as gif. It will asked you whether to save it as an animation or as indexed. Save it as animation :) 3- You'll be asked for some parameters such as the time between frames. Choose the right ones for you. 4- If you want an image to stay more than the others (the first image for example), just duplicat the layer. If you want a more complete tool than this, take a look at GAP: http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Using_GAP/ greetings, ----------------------------------------------- Jordi Massaguer Pla openTrends Solucions i Sistemes phone: +34 93 320 84 14 fax: +34 93 300 35 27 jordi.massaguer@opentrends.net

Thanks for posting this Jordi; I had read that animated gifs could be done with gimp, but had never been able to run down the "how to." -ED- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Glad you chimed in, I was going to say I've used Gimp for years doing animations in .gif ... has always worked well for me. Good info, sir!
