Will 8.1 support spam filtering?
One thing I am missing in SuSE is support for SpamAssassin. I am using Postfix, Cyrus and Amavis which makes it not very trivial to stick another content filter in the middle. It would be nice if SuSE came with Amavis-new and SpamAssasin pre configured. BTW, does anyone currently use the above combination (postfix, cyrus, amavis and spamassasin?) Care to show how it is done? I am so sick of all the spam I received every day... Thanks, Avi -- Avi Schwartz Avi@CFFtechnologies.com
Hi Avi, I am using SLEMS 3.1... and do run Spamassassin... but I actually run the spam filter on my mail relay in the DMZ (separate from the actual mail server.) This works nicely, since the spam is removed before ever getting to the virus scanner. I would think that if you have to run it on the same system, you could just insert the spam filter before amavis... just using another port for for an smtp type of connection: Internet->smtpd->spamassissin->amavi->lmtp for cyrus. - herman Avi Schwartz wrote:

spamassassin is a package in 8.1, yes. -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A. P. J.
