i am currently running SuSE 7.3 professional and if i play mp3's on my box, the pitch (speed) of them is way too high. anyone know what libraries i would need to update to try to solve this? would it just be an mpg123 issue? it's happening when i play using mpg123, xmms, and freeamp. thanks, Jason

It's probably an ALSA driver issue. It used to happen to me infrequently but not often enough for me to try to figure out what was wrong. It might also be an artsd issue in KDE. FWIW, It hasn't happened at all in 8.0. Best Regards, Keith -- LPIC-2, MCSE, N+ Will we all fight for the right to be free? Got spam? Get spastic http://spastic.sourceforge.net

If you use kde3's noatun, it has "pitch control" in itself, so you could correct the "wrong" pitch of the sound card. Praise

Likewise if you were to use alsaplayer, which is one of my personal fav's :-) Kevin
