free/share ware Purify
Folks, Is there a gnu/free/share version of Purify for Linux out there? For the hobbyist spending over $2K is too much. I looked at electric fence but it has limited C++ support. Try looking into valgrind. For the hobbyist spending over $2K is too much. I looked at electric fence but it has limited C++ support. No. Purify is a very unique product. Nick mentioned Valgrind which is an excellent product. Last year, one of our members was having difficulty with memory leaks in his company's code (used in a telco switch). None of the tools, like Valgrind helped at all until (at my suggestion) he downloaded a trial version of Purify that found the problem in less than 5 minutes, and
