I'm wondering where one would get access to the "sources" of the new KDE 3.3.91 as is distributed via the apt repository. The text to speech system, as it distributed through it, only has support for "Festival lite" and "freetts". While I need Festival interactive support ... I'm wondering if it isn't a "configuration" question, while building it, as the documentation states that festival interactive support should be included.

It works with the full featuerd Festival. You can install it on your current kde version as well, via CVS or binary for suse 9.2/9.1. See here for more info: http://accessibility.kde.org/developer/kttsd/index.php Josephine

I know, I installed the binary version for SuSE (as distributed by the apt repository), and I only got options for "FreeTTS" and "Festival lite". I've got the full blown Festival installed on the system, but I had to revert to using it as a "command" within ktts to enable it. It's also my experience, that the "build" made by SuSE and the build made by KDE, are quite different. So, as to not have to install the entire from scratch, I just wanted the kdeaccessibility3 source package, as packages by SuSE in source version. For the purpose of "recompiling" it, and "include" the "festival fullblown" support.
Josephine
Thanks, Örn

You do realize that the same person builds both. The packages for SuSE on the kde site are contributed by SuSE. The ones in the supplementary directory are more often updated and tweaked I believe, but they are from the same source. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871

I have to admit, that I haven't "done" it in a year or so, but I am reluctant to try, as always when I've done it ... the entire setup of the system is "confused", as the KDE and SuSE setups are ... in fact, oddly enough ... quite different. Even to the point, that translations "in my case Icelandic" aren't working as they should, in all aspects (menu system), because the menus are not KDE menus... they're SuSE's own.
