Hi all, I am new to SuSE 8.0 (i'm a caldera user for the most part), but we do production work in Java here, and I would like to know how to get SuSE 8.0 to point to SunJava2-1.3.1 when I type 'java' (instead of the default 1.1.8). Is there a easy way to do this, I know I can change the links by hand, but would prefer a easier method as a workaround. -Bill

There is just one link. rm /usr/lib/java ln -s /usr/lib/jdk1.3.1 /usr/lib/java No more is needed. And a novelty in 8.0 is that SuSEconfig won't mess it up for you :) regards Anders
I got a message in root (as part of the install process) after installing java that said to use SetDefaultJava [--devel] version where --devel is used to set the version to the version of the JDK version is used as:SunJava1 SunJava2 IBMJava2, Java2, or default Worked well for me then my SAP Business connector install worked flawlessly.
