I'm new to Linux and I'm curious what fonts you guys like to use for display. I'm not really to happy with the way fonts are looking but it could just be the way I have it set up. My 21'' monitor is set with a screen rs of 1280 x 1024 (it's a viewsonic G810 and my video card is an XFS GeForce4 MX(440)). Color depth set at 16bit. 3D acceleration enabled and anti-aliasing enabled. I'm currently using nimbus-sans (Xft) 12px for most things but have been trying some others . I'm having trouble getting the fonts to look very clear. I don't think it's the monitor of video card since on XP things look fine and clearer. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you -- Rick , -- Rick

http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/27788.html This has a good story on how to set up fonts for KDE. This may resolve your issue. The default fonts leave something to be desired on larger monitors. ----- Doug

Pat helped me out. I had to configure my monitor better through sax2 at the command line. -- Rick
