[opensuse] 13.1: firefox (GNOME) highly unstable
Firefox works highly unstable since some time. I disappears randomly, and finally I found how to make it crash reliably. Go to https://build.opensuse.org, click on All Projects, clear Exclude user home project - firefox disappears. What is weird - it does it only when started via GNOME shell (favorites or search). It does not crash when started directly from terminal. After install 50+ debug packages and attaching gdb I finally got zero useful information: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x00007f4008b512f6 in ?? () (gdb) bt #0 0x00007f4008b512f6 in ?? () #1 0x00007f3fec5ab9c0 in ?? () #2 0x00007fff4508e2c8 in ?? () #3 0x0000000000000000 in ?? () (gdb) (all debug packages requested by gdb are installed). This likely would make bug report pretty pointless :( Am I the only one? How do I add parameter to whatever GNOME shell is using? There are no properties shown for application. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/26.0/linux-x86_64/ I'm also using Firefox under Gnome 3 and cannot reproduce the issue. The stack in your output really looks suspicious. Yes. It crashes if started from within GNOME shell and does not crash when started directly from terminal. Same as openSUSE binary.

No, it does not crash. I tried to disable all extensions and plugins, but it still crashes the same way on the same page. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Have you updated anything recently without rebooting or logging out and in? In other words, does zypper ps return any processes? Regards, Peter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Looks like nVidia drivers issue
For the record - I currently use driver 319.82 where problems do not occur (I hesitate to say "fixed" :) ) Other users on nVidia forums report that drivers 331.38 do not have this problem either. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
