HI I've had a console session open running 'top' and i switched to ctrl-alt-F7 to login to a graphical session. I put the password in, hit enter and switched back to the console to watch 'top'. My question is, why doesn't the graphical login proceed at normal pace to load the desktop? It seems to halt the login progress until i switch back to the graphical session.
